What is Roleplay?
From Wikipedia:
A role-playing game is a game in which the participants assume the roles of characters and collaboratively create stories. Participants determine the actions of their characters based on their characterisation, and the actions succeed or fail according to a formal system of rules and guidelines. Within the rules, they may improvise freely; their choices shape the direction and outcome of the games.
What does that mean?
It means, that Role Play is a simple game you play with others. You assume the role of a custom character that fits the theme of the game, or, 'story'. Based on your actions, you and the others shape the game based on what happens with you, and what the host decides to do.
In this workshop, I'll show you a small tweak to your RPs, so they fit a script-like feel.
Past Form:
Everyone is sitting around a garden. Flowers are blooming around them.
John looks at Bob and says, "Hello, Bob."
A teacher walks up to them. The teacher smirks, "What are you doing out here?"
Bob looks at the teacher. "What do you want?" He asks.
The teacher punches Bob.
A new form would consist of the same things, but exactly like this:
Everyone is sitting around a garden. Flowers are blooming around them.
John: *looks at Bob* Hello, Bob.
*This is changed around. The *s symbolize your action.*
A teacher walks up to them.
Teacher: *smirks* What are you doing out here?
*Emotions can also be put in *s. For example, crying, whining, joyfully, etc*
Bob: *looks at teacher* What do you want?
Teacher: *punches Bob*
